Like everything else, social media is always changing.
I debated writing this post because as a virtual assistant who manages social media for various clients, I knew with how often image sizing changes, this post might need frequent updates!
Whenever I hit a snag and an image isn’t showing up properly on a client’s social media, I’m always doing an internet search to get the latest sizing. If I’m having this problem, I know others must be too!
Let’s do this:
In this post, I cover 5 of the most popular social media platforms: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google+.
Much of the sizing for Facebook now (June 2017) now works well on LinkedIn, so this could be a huge timesaver.
If you aren’t sure how to resize your images, find someone who can. It’s not very professional to have the wrong image sizes, and stretched or pixelated images. People will just scroll on by.
As I mention in this post, your business doesn’t need to be on every social media platform. It does, however, need to be where your customers are. Do you know where that is? What industry are you trying to reach?
Consider, also, what industry your business is in. Restaurants and food trucks have tremendous success on Instagram, displaying their food creations to the public. Same with the fashion industry.
Think about your demographics, who are you trying to reach? Most millennials are on Snapchat and Instagram, whereas executives and CEOs are on LinkedIn. Give this some thought, and make adjustments as needed.
As someone who manages social media for clients, I can safely say that image is everything. Put your best image forward, and you’re well on your way to success.
I hope this post has been helpful to you, and I hope you’ll share it with others.
